Funding Weekly: Polymarket raises $1 billion, Figure buys Kiavi for $717 million
PANews’ weekly funding roundup counted 10 blockchain funding deals worldwide between Aug. 31 and Sept. 6, with disclosed capital topping $1.28 billion. The largest crypto financing in the period was Polymarket’s new $1 billion round, led by 1789 Capital with roughly $300 million, according to The Wall Street Journal, which cited people familiar with the matter. Figure Technology Solutions also announced a $717 million acquisition of AI real estate lending platform Kiavi, adding its lending operations to Figure’s blockchain infrastructure. Elsewhere in crypto, Firelight Protocol raised $8 million for a DeFi risk product, bank-backed digital currency network Cari secured $32.5 million from a group of banks, Felix Pago closed a $200 million Series B combining equity and credit, and onchain bank OpenReserve raised a $25 million seed round led by a16z crypto.
