MacOS info-stealing malware targets crypto users by hijacking Telegram sessions

Security researchers have identified an info-stealing malware strain targeting MacOS devices used by crypto holders. According to the report, the malware can hijack Telegram Desktop sessions and steal passwords as well as wallet databases, giving attackers a path to take over user accounts and steal digital assets. Wallets and apps listed as affected include Exodus, Atomic, Electrum, Wasabi, and Monero, among others. Security experts said users who suspect infection should treat the machine as untrusted immediately. Recommended steps include terminating all active Telegram sessions, changing Telegram two-factor authentication credentials and the desktop app password, and avoiding any entry of seed phrases, private keys, or wallet passwords on the compromised device. The guidance also calls for creating a new wallet and moving assets out. The item was cited by Odaily, with FinanceFeeds named as the source.
