MoonPay’s PayBox adds Collector Crypt plugin for AI-driven card pack purchases

MoonPay said its AI payments tool, PayBox, has launched a plugin for Collector Crypt, a card-based real-world asset platform. The integration lets users ask AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok to buy card packs directly on Collector Crypt from within a conversation. According to MoonPay, the process does not require users to open a separate wallet or app, and permissions can be revoked at any time. PayBox offers two approval settings. Under Always Ask, each card pack purchase must be confirmed with a passkey. Under Autonomous mode, users set a spending cap in advance, allowing the AI to open packs on its own within that limit. The update was disclosed by MoonPay in a post on X.

MoonPay and Dunamu to explore stablecoin payments and corporate treasury use cases

Crypto payments company MoonPay has entered a partnership with South Korean fintech firm Dunamu to examine opportunities in global digital asset financial infrastructure. The two companies said their work will center on commercial use cases tied to stablecoin payments and corporate treasury management. That includes new applications for cross-border payments and fund transfers built on stablecoins. The announcement was cited by Techub News, with PR Newswire named as the source. No additional financial terms or rollout timeline were disclosed in the brief. The partnership frames stablecoins as a possible tool for payment flows and treasury operations, while placing the focus on research and business exploration rather than a confirmed product launch.

Former Acting CFTC Chair Says Existing Rules Are Enough to Regulate Crypto Markets

Caroline Pham, former acting chair of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and now chief legal officer and chief administrative officer at MoonPay, said the current U.S. legal framework already gives the CFTC broad authority over crypto assets and other emerging commodities. In her view, the Commodity Exchange Act is sufficient to cover the market without waiting for Congress to pass new legislation. Pham also said recently proposed CFTC rules could improve protections for U.S. retail crypto traders. She argued that bringing activity onto strictly regulated trading platforms would offer stronger investor protection than leaving oversight fragmented across different state laws. On payments and settlement, Pham said tokenized deposits are better suited to wholesale financial markets. She noted that if all trades in a single trading day were settled onchain in real time through atomic settlement, the cash required could reach $15 trillion, a level current funding cannot support. Banks currently rely on net settlement to offset payables and receivables, which she said gives tokenized deposits an important role in wholesale markets. Stablecoins, by contrast, fit cases where counterparties lack trust and want to reduce settlement risk. Pham also said she expects the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq to begin listing true tokenized equities within two years, with meaningful trading volume.

Caroline Pham says crypto regulation can move ahead without new legislation from Congress

Caroline Pham, chief legal officer at MoonPay and a former commissioner at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, said cryptocurrency regulation does not need to wait for congressional legislation. According to ChainCatcher, Pham said regulators can push implementation forward through rulemaking alone. She also argued that the CFTC’s jurisdiction is extremely broad under the Commodity Exchange Act. In her description, nearly everything qualifies as a commodity except onions and box office receipts from motion pictures. Her remarks frame crypto oversight as something that can be advanced within existing regulatory powers rather than through a new act of Congress.

MoonPay Integrates With Arc, Adding USDC On-Ramp Support

Arc said on Oct. 10 that MoonPay has officially integrated with its blockchain network, giving users a new way to buy USDC and move funds into the Arc ecosystem. According to the announcement, MoonPay serves more than 30 million users and supports several payment methods, including bank cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and bank transfers. The integration is designed to make fiat on-ramping easier across Arc’s ecosystem. Arc said the setup will support wallets, applications, and developers building on the network by offering a more accessible path for users to acquire USDC and bring those funds on-chain. The stated goal is to lower the barrier for entering the Arc ecosystem through regulated payment channels already supported by MoonPay.

ether.fi moves payment infrastructure to MoonPay as assets under management top $6 billion

ether.fi said it has partnered with MoonPay and will migrate its core payments infrastructure to MoonPay’s integrated stack, linking fiat on-ramps, on-chain transfers and off-ramps while keeping users in a self-custody setup. The companies plan to roll out four products: Headless Ramps for embedded on- and off-ramping, Trade for cross-chain swaps and routing, Enterprise virtual accounts that support ACH, SWIFT and SEPA, and crypto top-ups. After the integration, users will only need to complete identity verification once. The company also disclosed fresh usage figures for its card business. ether.fi said card spending reached $123.7 million in September across 1.5 million transactions, up more than fivefold year over year. Since April 2025, cumulative spending has reached $918.1 million. The platform’s assets under management now exceed $6 billion, according to the company’s statement.

MoonPay Commerce’s 23-month Solana data shows steady take rate and lower monthly volume

Data shared by X user obchakevich_ outlines 23 months of on-chain activity for MoonPay Commerce on Solana, covering November 2024 through September 2026. The business traces back to Helio, a payments service MoonPay said it acquired on Jan. 13, 2025, before renaming it MoonPay Commerce. The product, however, is still running on the pre-acquisition smart contracts. The deal value was not disclosed by the companies. Fox Business reported a $175 million price tag, while Fintech Futures described the acquisition as an all-equity transaction. Helio, founded in London in 2022, said at the time of the acquisition that it had more than 6,000 merchants, more than $1.5 billion in cumulative volume, and integrations with Discord, Shopify and WooCommerce. The on-chain figures show $100.3 million in transaction volume and $1.08 million in fees in the three months before the acquisition, implying about $4.3 million in annualized fees. Full-year 2025 volume came in at $141.9 million with $1.59 million in fees. Over the last 12 months, volume was $90.7 million and fees were about $930,000. Monthly volume fell from $39.8 million in January 2025 to $9.6 million in March, and stood at $7.3 million in September 2026. The effective fee rate stayed between 1.05% and 1.20% across the 23-month period.

Crypto’s next hurdle is no longer building products, but getting users to stay

Crypto firms spent years building blockchain-based financial products and the infrastructure behind them. Now the industry is confronting a tougher problem: persuading people and institutions to use those products regularly instead of treating them as one-off experiments. Coinbase says adoption comes down to whether crypto tools solve everyday financial needs, with rewards, trust and ease of use helping turn trial into habit. Ben Shen, the company’s head of financial services and loyalty products, said customers care less about the underlying blockchain than about what they can do with their money — hold it, grow it, send it, spend it or borrow against it. Coinbase frames adoption as a cycle in which funds come onto the platform, stay there for a reason and then get used across more services. Elsewhere, O’Leary Ventures chairman Kevin O’Leary argued that blockchain networks chasing institutional business need to prove real usage and real deals rather than relying on technical tests alone. WisdomTree is taking a distribution-focused approach, pushing its tokenized funds onto more platforms, including MoonPay, so eligible U.S. retail users can access WTGXX with stablecoins without a separate WisdomTree onboarding process. Across the sector, the question is shifting from whether crypto products can be built to what will make customers keep coming back.
