Whale Address 'TLBL' Hit Again: Cumulative Losses Pass $50M After Suspected Private Key Leak

On-chain data tracker Lookonchain has disclosed another major asset-security incident involving the whale address 'TLBL'. ChainCatcher relayed the disclosure. According to Lookonchain, the total losses tied to this address have now surpassed $50 million. The earlier loss occurred about two years ago, when the same address lost roughly $24 million in a phishing attack. In the latest event, more than $26 million in assets held across three wallets was transferred out completely. Lookonchain said a suspected private key leak was the likely cause. The two events are both tied to the same address. Combined, they account for more than $50 million in losses. The latest incident has once again drawn market attention to how high-net-worth on-chain addresses manage security risks, ChainCatcher noted. Lookonchain's disclosure provides two clear numbers: about $24 million lost in the phishing attack two years ago, and more than $26 million removed from three wallets in the recent suspected key compromise. The address's cumulative losses now top $50 million.

Whale Wallet TLBL Suspected of Private Key Leak, Losing ~$25.6M in Assets

Blockchain monitoring firm Specter reported that the whale wallet TLBL is suspected of a private key leak, leading to the loss of approximately $25.6 million in assets. The attacker swapped all stolen tokens — WBTC, cbBTC, LDO, USDS and CRV — into DAI and ETH. This is not the first time the wallet has been compromised. In September 2023, TLBL suffered $24.23 million in losses due to a malicious token approval, although the attacker eventually returned roughly 90% of the stolen funds.
