Ethereum Layer 2 Network Silicon Halts Bridge Deposits, Initiates Shutdown

According to CryptoSlate, Ethereum layer-2 network Silicon announced it stopped accepting new bridge deposits on September 2 and began the shutdown process. Users have until December 31 to withdraw all assets; after that, the network and block explorer will be taken offline, and any remaining assets will be lost. Currently, on-chain assets total approximately $9.75 million, comprising $2.66 million in USDC, $2.54 million in WBTC, $2.08 million in ETH, and $1.85 million in USDT. Assets bridged from Ethereum mainnet can be withdrawn directly back to the mainnet during the withdrawal window. However, tokens that were issued directly on Silicon cannot be bridged and must be exchanged using the remaining on-chain liquidity. As the shutdown progresses, this liquidity may dwindle, making swaps increasingly difficult. Additionally, Silicon's Web3 wallet will be deactivated along with the network closure. Users are urged to act promptly to secure their funds.

Revolut launches EURR euro stablecoin, with Bridge as legal issuer and reserve manager

Revolut has started a phased rollout of EURR, its first euro-denominated stablecoin, beginning with selected eligible customers in Denmark, Poland and Portugal. The company said the token will later expand to other markets across the European Economic Area during 2026 and will be integrated into the Revolut retail app to connect euros, crypto assets, external wallets and supported blockchain networks. Despite carrying the Revolut brand, EURR is not legally issued by Revolut Bank or another Revolut group crypto entity. The legal issuer is Luxembourg-registered Bridge Building S.A., which also handles minting, burning, reserve management and fiat redemptions. Under the white paper, EURR is classified as an e-money token under MiCA and is designed to maintain a value equivalent to €1 per token. Each circulating EURR must be backed by €1 or equivalent euro-denominated reserve assets. The rollout also adds a new layer to Revolut’s existing crypto stack, which already includes its retail app, the Revolut X trading platform and Revolut Ramp. At launch, media checks and Bridge’s reserve page showed live deployment on Ethereum and Polygon, while the white paper listed a broader set of supported networks.

Sandbox halts Base and BNB Chain bridging after exploit

Web3 gaming network The Sandbox has disabled bridging on the affected networks after an exploit, moving to isolate the impacted tokens. The project told users not to trade SAND on Base and BNB Chain while the issue is being handled. According to CoinDesk’s summary, the amount affected was less than 0.01% of SAND’s total supply. The measures were limited to the networks involved, with bridging turned off on those chains rather than across the entire ecosystem. No additional figures, timeline details, or technical explanation were disclosed in the source summary.

Stripe's Bridge Enters EU MiCA Register After Luxembourg Approval

Stripe’s stablecoin infrastructure company Bridge has entered the European Union’s MiCA register through its Luxembourg entity, Bridge Building, after receiving local regulatory approval. The latest ESMA update shows that the number of MiCA-authorized electronic money token (EMT) issuers in the EU register has risen to 42. Bridge said on July 2 that it had obtained a CASP authorization and an EMI license from Luxembourg’s financial regulator. Product lead Mai Leduc Blount said the approval allows EU businesses to build stablecoin and payments products within a regulated framework. The same ESMA update also added three German CASP entries, lifting the total number of authorized CASPs in the EU register to 324. ART authorization was unchanged, and no ART issuer is listed.

XDC Network launches XDC AI framework with gasless USDC settlement

XDC Network rolled out its XDC AI framework on July 29, introducing a setup designed to let AI agents discover, buy, and pay for digital services on their own. According to CryptoBriefing, the framework includes a smart wallet with built-in compliance features, uses gasless USDC settlement, and is built on Coinbase’s x402 payment standard. The network is also working with Bridge, a Stripe company, on regulated stablecoin and fiat transaction infrastructure. XDC Network said this part of the buildout is intended to support programmable financial identity and seamless conversion between payment rails. The roadmap outlined in the report adds more services before year-end. Those planned integrations include research tools and travel booking, while plugin support for the ElizaOS AI agent framework is also in the pipeline. The update puts payments, compliance, and service access into one package aimed at autonomous AI-driven transactions.

XDC AI pitches agentic finance with x402 payments and gasless USDC settlement

XDC Network is positioning itself as a payments rail for the emerging agentic economy, where AI agents do more than recommend actions and can actually complete transactions. The company’s XDC AI framework combines the x402 open payment standard with gasless USDC settlement, aiming to let autonomous software pay for API calls, book services, and settle trades in real time. XDC Tech, the U.S.-based institutional arm of the network, has also integrated Bridge, a Stripe company, to bring stablecoin settlement into that roadmap. According to comments from co-founders Atul Khekade and Ritesh Kakkad cited by Decrypt, the missing piece for AI agents has been a trust and settlement layer that can handle real-time payments, compliance, KYC, AML, dispute resolution, and spending controls. XDC says it wants to supply that shared infrastructure rather than have each business build its own rails. The company recently demonstrated its XDC AI marketplace at its New York office, where it said more than 100 representatives from banks, tech firms, VC, family offices, AI companies, and ecosystem groups attended. The broader bet is that AI agents, stablecoins, and enterprise blockchain will converge into a new transactional stack for trade finance, RWAs, and machine-driven commerce.

Sui launches USDsui, directing reserve income to SUI buybacks and DeFi incentives

Sui has introduced its native stablecoin, USDsui, with a structure that routes reserve income back into the network instead of keeping it with the issuer. According to Techub, citing CryptoBriefing, the yield generated by reserve assets including U.S. Treasuries will be used for open-market SUI buybacks and DeFi liquidity incentives. The design is meant to return value directly to ecosystem participants. USDsui is issued by Bridge, the company acquired by Stripe, and uses a fully collateralized model. That sets the token apart from more traditional stablecoin structures where reserve earnings remain with the issuer. In this case, the reserve yield is being redirected to on-chain ecosystem support. Techub also said the Sui network has already processed more than $1 trillion in stablecoin transfers. As USDsui circulation grows, the scale effect of this mechanism is expected to increase alongside it.
