Dormant Bitcoin Address Moves 30 BTC for the First Time in Nearly 15 Years Amid Ongoing New York Lawsuit

A Bitcoin address identified as “1KV47” has made its first outbound transfer in nearly 15 years, moving 30 BTC worth about $1.88 million, according to a report cited by ChainCatcher from Cointelegraph. The transaction drew attention because the wallet had remained dormant for an extended period and the movement came as a New York lawsuit continues to develop. The currently available information indicates that the address completed a transfer of 30 BTC, but no further details were provided on the receiving address, the ultimate beneficiary, or whether the transaction was directly tied to litigation, custodial adjustments, or a portfolio management decision. As a result, the transfer has become a point of focus for on-chain analysts and market participants tracking legacy Bitcoin holdings. While the amount is relatively modest compared with large whale transfers, the nearly 15-year dormancy makes the event notable. Market observers are now watching whether the coins move further, especially toward exchange-linked wallets, and whether future legal disclosures in the New York case provide more context about the address and its ownership history.
