Philippe Albert told GOAL that Jeremy Doku is capable of reaching the level of Vinicius Junior and Luis Diaz, but said he still needs to improve parts of his game. Albert also spoke about Doku's place in Belgium's starting XI.
Albert on Doku's level
Albert said: "Of course. Doku has plenty of qualities."
He added: "The problem is Jeremy is still young and sometimes he makes great things, but sometimes he touches the ball too much. With Guardiola, he went to another level."
Competition in Belgium's XI
Albert said Doku will have some difficulties getting back into Belgium's starting XI because one or two players came into the national team.
Albert said: "But if he plays with Man City and is in good shape, he will always be on the team sheet."
Doku's comments in April
Doku told The Guardian in April: "I feel like if I have goals we are talking about a different conversation. Assists - I’m fine."
He also said: "I have to be more in the areas where you can score easy goals, tap-ins. When I look at my goals, every time they are with dribbles. I want to score even five tap-ins a-season – that would make a big difference."
Aim to be the world's best winger
Doku said: "A winger needs to score. If I have those goals then I believe that I can get there to be the world’s best winger, for sure, 100%."
