Djurgarden midfielder Bo Hegland said Barcelona interest is a great compliment after reports of scouting missions during 2026.

Djurgarden midfielder Bo Hegland said Barcelona's interest in signing him is a "great compliment" after reports of scouting missions. The 2026 campaign has brought him 10 goals and 16 assists, and he set a new Allsvenskan single-season assist record on 24 October.

Hegland responds to Barcelona interest

Hegland said: "It’s a great compliment that people follow you."

He added: "It’s a sign that you’re doing things well. I see it as nothing other than a great compliment."

FootballTransfers said SPORT claimed Barcelona have conducted scouting missions on Hegland this year.

2026 numbers and assist record

Hegland registered 10 goals and 16 assists for Djurgarden in 2026.

After assisting Jeppe Okkels in the draw with Orgryte on 24 October, Hegland set a new record for the most assists, 16, in a single Allsvenskan season.

Since joining Djurgarden from Swedish side Moss in June 2025, Hegland has 12 goals and 19 assists in 33 games for the club.

Summer decision and contract

Hegland had the chance to join Anderlecht in the summer but stayed with Djurgarden.

Asked about his decision to reject the advances of Anderlecht, Hegland continued: "I’m not going to comment on that."

He also said: "But this summer, I felt confident that I have a lot of potential in the Allsvenskan and that I can still improve a great deal. I’m very happy with my situation."

Hegland is contracted to Djurgarden until 2029.
