TEAMtalk reported that Celtic are planning for the January transfer window and have identified four targets.
Tóth remains under consideration
TEAMtalk reported that Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Balázs Tóth remains a Celtic target. Tóth was on Celtic's radar in the summer, but no agreement was reached.
TEAMtalk reported that Celtic believe they stand a chance of signing Tóth in January. The outlet also reported that Tóth is reluctant to sign a new contract at Ewood Park and is therefore due to become a free agent next summer.
TEAMtalk reported that Celtic could pursue a cut-price deal for Tóth in the winter, or a pre-contract arrangement ahead of a free transfer next summer. Viljami Sinisalo is established as Celtic's first choice goalkeeper, alongside loanee Sam Johnstone and Ross Doohan.
Gineitis move could be revived
In midfield, Celtic are expected to try again for Torino's Gvidas Gineitis, according to TEAMtalk. Gineitis was viewed as a possible replacement for the departed Arne Engels, but a late summer push collapsed over the fee.
Celtic's offers for Gvidas Gineitis fell short of Torino's valuation, in the region of £13million. TEAMtalk reported that multiple sources claim Celtic intend to return for Gvidas Gineitis in January, and that he has shown he would consider a move.
Chambers and Morishita also on the radar
TEAMtalk reported that Liverpool's Luke Chambers is expected to leave on loan once the window opens. The outlet said Celtic are among his admirers and regard the former Kilmarnock loanee as a longer-term project.
With Chambers' Anfield contract expiring next summer, a permanent deal is also under consideration. TEAMtalk reported that Ryoya Morishita is on Celtic's radar, while a late summer approach linked to discussions around Reo Hatate failed to move forward.
TEAMtalk reported that sources suggest Celtic may revisit Morishita in January or look towards the summer. Blackburn have shown reluctance to sell Morishita, and TEAMtalk reported that a double Celtic raid on Blackburn for Tóth and Morishita cannot be ruled out.
