CaughtOffside reported that Chelsea are planning a future move for Strasbourg winger Gessime Yassine. The 20-year-old has drawn interest from several Premier League clubs since joining Strasbourg in January.
Chelsea's long-term plan
CaughtOffside, citing a TEAMtalk report, said Chelsea reportedly plan to sign Yassine and are determined to bring him to Stamford Bridge. CaughtOffside also said Chelsea are understood to have a clear long-term plan for Yassine and see him as a potential first-team addition in the coming years.
Progress at Strasbourg
CaughtOffside said Yassine has been at Strasbourg since joining in January. He has scored two goals and provided two assists this season. CaughtOffside, citing a TEAMtalk report, said the BlueCo ownership group is delighted with Yassine's progress in France.
Transfer timing remains open
CaughtOffside said Chelsea's ownership of Strasbourg gives them an advantage in monitoring Yassine's progress and timing a transfer. CaughtOffside said a move to Stamford Bridge in 2027 could remain possible, while Chelsea could let him keep developing in France before deciding on a transfer. CaughtOffside said the timing of any potential transfer remains uncertain and that Yassine is reportedly comfortable with the prospect of moving to West London.
Other Premier League interest
CaughtOffside said Brighton, Newcastle United, Sunderland, Brentford, Everton and Nottingham Forest are reportedly monitoring Yassine.
