Emery said: "It is a hamstring. He played fantastic when we needed him against Brentford, Fenerbahce and today. Different players are being injured and the competitions are tough."
Maatsen update
Emery said: "Ian Maatsen is getting better and he will start training with us next week. We are going to find another solution, like with Tyrone Mings in the last 10 minutes."
Manzambi condition
Johan Manzambi scored the winner in Aston Villa's 1-0 win over Newcastle United. Emery said the issue which forced Manzambi off does not look serious.
