Glentoran's home game against Ballymena United was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch, delaying Duncan Ferguson's first match as manager. The game had been set to take place at the Oval on Saturday at 15:00 BST, but after a pitch inspection at 12:00 the decision was taken to call it off.

Ferguson's first game pushed back

Ferguson was confirmed as Glentoran boss on Monday. The meeting with Ballymena United had been due to be his first game in charge of the club.

New date for first match

Ferguson will now take charge of Glentoran for the first time away to Coleraine on Friday, 30 October at 19:45 GMT.

Weather warnings in place

A yellow Met Office weather warning is in place across Northern Ireland from 10:00 BST on Saturday until 12:00 GMT on Sunday. There is also an amber weather warning in place for Saturday night, with strong winds of up to 75mph expected.

Women's final also postponed

Saturday's Women's Challenge Cup final between Glentoran and Cliftonville was also postponed on Friday because of the weather warning.
