Football Italia reported that Inter and Milan are monitoring Eintracht Frankfurt youngster Niko Ilicevic, with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City also keeping tabs on him. The attacking midfielder is 15, and Frankfurt want to tie him to his first professional contract when he turns 16 on 31 October.
Interest from several clubs
According to Calciomercato.com, citing Sky Sport Deutschland, both Milan clubs reportedly see Ilicevic as one for the future. Football Italia reported that Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City are also following the situation.
Frankfurt's plan
Ilicevic has been at Frankfurt's academy since the age of eight. The Bundesliga club want to sign him to his first professional deal on 31 October, the date of his 16th birthday. Milan and Inter meet in the derby on 31 October.
Youth international numbers and rules
Ilicevic has two goals in three appearances for Germany's Under-17s. He previously scored once in two games for the Under-15s and twice in seven for the Under-16s. Under FIFA's rules on minors, he could only move abroad within the EU once he turns 16, which would rule out a move to Manchester City until he is 18.
Family background
His uncle, Ivo Ilicevic, was a winger who played for Nürnberg, Hamburg, Kaiserslautern, Bochum, Greuther Fürth and Darmstadt in Germany, as well as Anzhi in Russia and Kairat Almaty in Kazakhstan. Ivo Ilicevic scored once in nine games for Croatia.
