Eli Junior Kroupi said his goal is to play for the France national team, while Bournemouth executive director Tiago Pinto said the club would not sell him even if an offer of 100 million euros arrived from Barcelona or Liverpool.
Kroupi sets out his international aim
Speaking to "DAZN France", he said: "I have always played for the France youth teams, I was born in France and started playing there too. I do not see myself going to a culture I do not know. The France national team is my goal."
He has already represented France at youth level. GOAL reported that Kroupi has committed himself to France despite being eligible for Ivory Coast and Portugal through his family roots, according to the Catalan newspaper "Sport".
Portugal had made contact
Back in May, former Portugal coach Roberto Martínez revealed that the Portuguese federation had made contact with Kroupi.
Bournemouth's position
Tiago Pinto said: "We will not sell Kroupi even if Barcelona or Liverpool offer 100 million euros. That is completely out of the question."
GOAL reported that Barcelona's technical staff are tracking Kroupi's progress closely, according to the Catalan newspaper "Sport".
Injury and return
Kroupi has been sidelined since last July with a fracture to the metatarsal bone of his foot. Marco Rose confirmed Kroupi has returned to group training.
Rose hinted Kroupi could feature against Manchester United on Sunday 25 October at Old Trafford.
