Liverpool are reportedly considering Felix Nmecha as an alternative midfield target if a move for Alex Scott proves too difficult amid Bournemouth's valuation.

CaughtOffside reports that Liverpool are considering Felix Nmecha as an alternative midfield target if a move for Alex Scott proves too difficult. Scott remains high on Liverpool's list, but Bournemouth's valuation of more than £100million has created a problem in their pursuit.

Scott remains a leading target

CaughtOffside says Liverpool still have Scott high on their shortlist for midfield reinforcements. Bournemouth's asking price of more than £100million has become an obstacle in the move.

Nmecha under consideration

With that difficulty in mind, Liverpool are considering Nmecha as an alternative option, according to CaughtOffside. According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are among several Premier League clubs showing interest in Nmecha.

According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United are also monitoring Nmecha, while Chelsea, Tottenham and other major clubs have tracked him.

Dortmund's position and contract details

Borussia Dortmund are in no rush to sell Nmecha. He signed a new contract earlier this year that runs until 2030.

There is no release clause available in January in his contract. Borussia Dortmund reportedly value him at around €90m-€100m, which could reach approximately £84m, while a lower release clause of around €80m is expected to become active only in 2027.

Schlotterbeck's comments

In comments published on Borussia Dortmund's official website, Nico Schlotterbeck said of his teammate: "That’s the Felix we know and want to see. If he keeps playing like this, he can become one of the greats."
