Reports said Liverpool are interested in Paul Wanner. Bild journalist Christian Falk first reported Liverpool’s interest in Wanner on September 16, with the player currently at PSV.
Falk on Liverpool interest
Falk told his website, CFBayernInsider: "There is interest from some clubs around, like Liverpool, there have always been talks."
Football365 wrote that On The Minute backed Falk’s claim about Liverpool’s interest in Wanner.
Falk on Bayern's position
Falk told CFBayernInsider: "It is NOT TRUE: Bayern Munich are extremely keen on bringing Paul Wanner back to Munich."
He also said: "FC Bayern gave him away, so they always have the chance to get him back, but they’re currently okay in this position."
Falk added: "Then this can bring him into the focus of top clubs. At the moment, it’s not hot with Bayern."
Wanner's focus at PSV
Falk told CFBayernInsider: "But he’s a young player (at 20 years of age), and he has to show he’s good enough to play for a massive club."
He also said: "I heard Wanner’s focus and concentration are 100% on PSV Eindhoven currently."
Falk said: "He’s determined to show he’s the best in his position in the Dutch top-flight."
Wanner's record with PSV and Bayern
Wanner came through Bayern’s youth academy and made eight appearances for the club’s first team.
During his time at Bayern, he had loan spells at SV Elversberg and 1. FC Heidenheim.
Wanner joined PSV from Bayern in the summer of 2025.
He scored five goals and provided four assists in 33 matches in all competitions for PSV last season, when he won the Eredivisie title with the club.
So far this season, Wanner has two assists in nine appearances for PSV.
