Reports said Manchester United have shortlisted Al-Ahli striker Ivan Toney as a possible attacking reinforcement for the winter window. Toney is among the options being considered as the club assesses its centre-forward choices.
Toney on the shortlist
Pete O’Rourke said: "Manchester United have Al-Ahli striker Ivan Toney as one of several options on their “shortlist” for attacking reinforcements."
Pete O’Rourke said: "Michael Carrick’s side are understood to be “monitoring” the England international at the moment, and are weighing up whether he could be the right option for them this winter."
Pete O’Rourke said: "Sources say that Toney “ticks boxes” for United as he is already proven in the Premier League, and has an excellent record when it comes to goalscoring."
Toney's scoring record
Toney currently plays for Al-Ahli. He has scored 11 times in 12 games this season, and his overall Saudi Pro League record stands at 66 goals in 77 matches.
During his previous spell at Brentford, Toney scored 36 goals in 84 Premier League matches. During the 2022/23 campaign, he netted 20 times in the league, with only Erling Haaland and Harry Kane scoring more than him in that competition.
