Oliver Mansson said after IFK Göteborg's draw with AIK that he only learned of reported Arsenal and Chelsea interest through social media.

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in signing IFK Göteborg midfielder Oliver Mansson. After Göteborg's 2-2 draw with AIK in Stockholm, in which he played the full 90 minutes, Mansson said he had not known about the reported interest before seeing it on social media.

Premier League links

According to CaughtOffside, citing TEAMtalk, Arsenal and Chelsea have been closely monitoring Mansson. CaughtOffside also reported that Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland have also reportedly been monitoring his progress in recent weeks.

Mansson's response

Mansson said: "No, I had no idea. I saw it on social media like everyone else. So, no, I didn't know that."

State of the situation

CaughtOffside said no indication suggests a transfer is imminent. FootballTransfers said any transfer talk is premature at this stage.

His own preference

Mansson has made 17 senior appearances for Göteborg so far. Asked whether he supports an English team, the 17-year-old said: "No, I actually don't. I don't. It's been Barca for me, but, well, it's always fun to have interest if there's something. It's the way it is."
