Planet Football listed nine modern-day greats of football it said never finished in the top three of the Ballon d'Or. Its list included Francesco Totti, Andrea Pirlo and Arjen Robben.
Totti and Pirlo on the list
Planet Football listed Totti among the nine and wrote that he only finished fifth in 2001.
Three-time Ballon d’Or winner Michel Platini said: "Totti has a genius in him that I don’t see in other players. Not even Zizou has the same kind of intuition."
Planet Football also listed Pirlo among the nine.
Robben and Rummenigge's view
Planet Football listed Robben among the nine.
Former chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said in 2014: "The fact that Arjen Robben failed to make the top three was a shame. It’s barely possible to play better than he has in the last year and a half."
Suarez and Bale records
Planet Football wrote that Suarez did not make FIFA's 23-man shortlist in 2014.
Suarez said: "Everyone brings it to attention, as Gerard Pique said, and what he told me is that they voted me as the best player in the most difficult league in the world, or one of the most difficult. I was also the highest goalscorer of all of the European leagues. But I prefer to keep quiet before saying things because every time that I speak there could be a problem."
Planet Football wrote that Bale never made it higher than sixth in 2016.
Keane's highest finish
Planet Football wrote that Keane's highest finish in the voting was sixth.
Keane said: "Sixth!? Me coming sixth makes it a bit of a joke, doesn’t it?"
