Toby Collyer was forced off during West Brom's comeback 3-2 win over Blackburn, with the midfielder taken off before half-time. Afterwards, James Morrison said Collyer had picked up a little hamstring injury, and admitted he should have listened to medical advice and rotated the midfielder.
Morrison on the injury
Morrison said: "That’s probably put a bit of a downer on the result. He’s just picked up a little hamstring injury. But that’s on me, really, I should’ve listened. Obviously playing three games a week was a big ask."
Minutes management plan
Collyer was making his third start in eight days. Morrison said he had planned to manage Collyer’s minutes, but conceded he should have started Ousmane Diakite instead.
Morrison accepts responsibility
Morrison said: "In my head I was trying to get him an hour, or 45 minutes, because of how they dealt with the six. But when you see Oussie play like that – I should’ve played him. But when you’re out the team and you come back in with the bit between your teeth and he certainly had that today."
