Real Madrid supporters displayed a banner about the Negreira case during the second half of the Champions League match against Leipzig. The banner read, "No impunity in the Negreira case," and the protest chants lasted for about five minutes.
How the banner spread around the stadium
Television cameras picked out the banner, and the giant screens inside the stadium showed it. It also circled the stands in a full 360 degrees.
Chants heard during the protest
Fans chanted "Laporta keeps paying", "Tebas, leave now" and "Barcelona: corruption". There were also chants accusing the Spanish Federation of corruption and others bearing the phrase "Negreira is still refereeing".
What AS and Sport said
According to the Madrid-based newspaper AS, the banner's appearance coincided with chants attacking Barcelona and Spanish football officials. Catalan newspaper Sport posted a video clip on X showing the banner clearly.
When the banner was folded away
They folded the banner away just as Arda Güler scored Real Madrid's second goal.
