Football Italia and SempreMilan reported claims of RedBird talks over a possible Al-Nassr majority stake, with Cristiano Ronaldo potentially taking 20%.

Football Italia, citing Calcio e Finanza, said RedBird Capital had held talks regarding a potential purchase of a majority stake in Al-Nassr. The reports said Cristiano Ronaldo could hold a 20% stake in Al-Nassr.

Talks at a preliminary stage

Football Italia, citing Calcio e Finanza, said RedBird had met “at least twice” with representatives from the PIF. It added that negotiations were at a “preliminary” stage, and that sources had told Calcio e Finanza an agreement between RedBird and the Saudi PIF was not a guarantee at that stage.

Proposed ownership structure

Football Italia, citing Calcio e Finanza, said the PIF owns 100% of the shares in Al-Nassr and that other entities, including the Saudi Media Company, were also involved in the consortium. SempreMilan, citing Gazzetta dello Sport, said the PIF were studying a sale of Al-Nassr to RedBird.

Football Italia, citing Calcio e Finanza, said RedBird were prepared to invest around €238m to acquire a 70% stake and that the proposed deal would value Al-Nassr at €340m. SempreMilan, citing Gazzetta dello Sport, said such a stake would be worth around $267 million.

Debt figures in the reports

Football Italia, citing Calcio e Finanza, said Al-Nassr's current debts reportedly amount to €190m. SempreMilan, citing Gazzetta dello Sport, said Al-Nassr are in €200 million worth of debt.

Football Italia, citing Calcio e Finanza, said the PIF were working to settle Al-Nassr's current debts to improve the club's financial situation and facilitate a sale to a consortium of investors led by RedBird.
