Bournemouth head coach Marco Rose said Alex Scott's thigh injury is not as bad as first feared and that the midfielder could return a little earlier than initially expected. Scott picked up the thigh injury while on international duty with England, and Bournemouth are next due to play Sunderland on Sunday, October 18th.
MRI and recovery update
Rose said Bournemouth carried out an MRI on Scott. Rose said, "We did an MRI and the pictures looked really well."
Rose said, "His progression, his healing, is in a good way. Better than we expected."
Availability for upcoming games
Rose said, "It means not that he is ready for Sunderland or next week but we can progress his rehab training, we can bring him back on the pitch to see how he responds."
Possible earlier return
Rose said Bournemouth can progress Scott's rehab training and bring him back on the pitch to assess his response. Rose said, "We are not talking about six to eight weeks anymore. We are quite confident that we get him back maybe a little bit earlier."
