Free agent Jadon Sancho has been offered a short-term contract by Getafe that would run until the end of the current campaign. GOAL cited The Telegraph as saying the proposed deal is worth £10,000 per week.
Talks before a decision
GOAL reported that Sancho is keen to hold personal discussions with Getafe head coach Jose Bordalas before making a final decision on his future.
End of the Chelsea loan
A 2024-25 loan to Chelsea ended with Chelsea paying a £5 million penalty clause rather than honouring a £25 million obligation to buy.
Getafe's start in La Liga
Getafe are 15th in La Liga and have two wins from their opening nine fixtures. GOAL wrote that the poor start has sparked a public war of words between Jose Bordalas and Getafe president Angel Torres.
Bordalas and Torres quotes
Bordalas said: "I feel deceived because what has been promised year after year hasn't been fulfilled. I've been warning about this since May... It's been proven that we don't have the squad for it."
Torres said: "He signed because he wanted to. Anyway, he's free to leave."
Torres also said: "To say that I deceived him... you have to be as shameless as stone to tell me, after 30 years, that I deceived him. What he needs to do is respect the players."
