Dominik Szoboszlai was forced off after 32 minutes of Liverpool's 2-1 win at Brentford after aggravating an existing hamstring injury. Andoni Iraola said he will be out "for some time."

Forced off at Brentford

Szoboszlai left the match after 32 minutes against Brentford after his existing injury worsened. Liverpool went on to win 2-1, but Iraola described the victory as "very expensive."

Hamstring issue had already ruled him out

Szoboszlai had missed Liverpool's previous two fixtures with a hamstring issue. One of them was the Champions League win over LASK, for which he did not even travel to Austria.

Iraola on the decision and recovery

Iraola had been uncertain of Szoboszlai's fitness before the trip to Brentford but decided to start him after Thursday and Friday training sessions. Iraola said the quick turnaround in fixtures had given his players "not the proper recovery" and that Szoboszlai's ailment had "not healed enough."

Gravenberch available from Monday

Ryan Gravenberch was suspended for the Brentford match. Iraola said, "We need everyone," and added, "we will need everyone in one moment or the other. Everyone has to be ready because we will need him probably." Gravenberch will be available from Monday onward.
