Getafe president Angel Torres said Sergio Ramos remains a possible signing for the club, but that centre-back is not a position Getafe need to strengthen at this stage. Torres made the comments while speaking to "Tablero Deportivo" on "Radio Nacional de Espana".
Torres leaves the door open
Torres said he has already spoken with Rene Ramos, Sergio Ramos' brother and agent, about getting a deal done. He said: "This is not a position I need to strengthen now. The coach asked for wingers, but it is not too late yet, and Ramos is on the list of future options."
Getafe's current priorities
GOAL reported that coach Jose Bordalas wants wingers. GOAL also reported that Getafe have six players already covering the defensive positions.
Possible move in January
Torres said any deal for Ramos could resurface in the January winter window if Getafe decide to reinforce their defence.
Ramos and Getafe updates
GOAL reported that Ramos remains without a club after his spell with Monterrey ended at the end of 2025. GOAL reported that his last official appearance came against Toluca in the Apertura semi-final on 6 December, a 3-2 defeat. GOAL also reported that Dani Carvajal has signed with Getafe until 30 June 2027.
