Union Berlin mocked Bayern Munich during Saturday's Bundesliga away match at FC Augsburg, where the game ended 1-1. Elsewhere, Vincent Karl announced he is leaving Eintracht Frankfurt's youth set-up, and Bild reported on Vincent Kompany's hospital stay.
Union Berlin's post at Augsburg
Shortly after kick-off at the WWK-Arena, Union Berlin wrote on X: "Already made it through eight seconds at the WWK-Arena without conceding. Not everyone can do that..."
The joke targeted Bayern Munich, who had fallen behind after just eight seconds in Augsburg's previous home match two weeks earlier.
On that occasion, Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer made an error when his chipped pass went awry, struck FCA player Robin Fellhauer on the back and bounced into his path. Robin Fellhauer then put Augsburg ahead with the fastest goal in Bundesliga history.
Draw after two red cards
Union took a point in Augsburg in a 1-1 draw after playing with ten men for a long time following centre-back Felix Uduokhai's red card in the 19th minute.
Augsburg defender Juma Bah was sent off after just over an hour. Han-Noah Massengo gave FCA the lead in the 71st minute, before Janik Haberer made it 1-1 in the 74th minute.
Hülsmann on Bayern buy-back talk
Tom Ritzy Hülsmann has been in goal for French second-division side Stade Reims since the summer.
Asked in an interview with Transfermarkt about a supposed buy-back clause held by FCB, Hülsmann said: "I'm not at all sure whether they really have a buy-back option . But no, that's not a goal of mine."
Hülsmann joined FCB's youth set-up from Eintracht Trier in 2017 as a 13-year-old and spent seven years in Munich. At the start of the 2023/24 season, he was in the first-team squad three times and made a total of 29 appearances for Bayern's second team.
He left FCB in 2024, initially on loan to SKN St. Pölten, before moving to TSV Hartberg a year later. This summer, Reims paid a €2.5 million transfer fee for him. He is Reims' first-choice goalkeeper, has made nine appearances in Ligue 2 so far, and is under contract until 2031.
Karl exit and Kompany hospital update
On Saturday, Vincent Karl announced via Instagram that he is leaving Eintracht Frankfurt's youth set-up after three years. He wrote: "One chapter ends, a new one begins," without revealing which club he is joining.
According to Bild, Vincent Karl is reportedly choosing Viktoria Aschaffenburg. According to Bild, Bayern have had him in their sights for their youth academy for a long time.
Vincent Kompany collapsed at Bayern's training ground on Friday while watching a session involving the second team. He has been undergoing tests in hospital since Friday, and his condition is stable.
Sporting director Max Eberl does not expect Kompany back for weeks. According to Bild, Bayern honorary president Uli Hoeneß brought him food in hospital on Saturday and carried a bag from the delicatessen company "Käfer" during the visit.
Hoeneß told Welt am Sonntag: "Like everyone else, I was shocked at first, but Vincent is in the best hands with our doctors and the specialists at the hospital," and said Kompany would be given "all the time he needs".
