Al-Ittihad beat Al-Diriyah 2-0 at the Al-Inma Stadium in Jeddah on Friday in the eleventh round of the Roshn League. Georginio Wijnaldum scored the second goal in the 77th minute from a penalty for his first Roshn League goal for Al-Ittihad.

Five-month wait ends
The goal ended a five-month drought for Wijnaldum in the competition. Before scoring against Al-Diriyah, he had played two league matches for Al-Ettifaq and three for Al-Ittihad without scoring.
Previous league goal and move
Wijnaldum's previous goal in the competition had come on 9 May, in Al-Ettifaq's 5-0 win over Al-Khaleej in the thirty-second round of last season's Roshn League. He joined Al-Ittihad on a free transfer this summer after his contract with Al-Ettifaq expired.
Another goal for Al-Ittihad
Before this league goal, Wijnaldum had scored once for Al-Ittihad in the AFC Champions League Elite 1-1 draw with Al-Shamal on the opening round of the league stage.
