FootballTransfers reported on 21 October that Barcelona teenager Xavi Espart is reportedly ready for a move to the Premier League and linked him with Arsenal. FootballTransfers said Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta reportedly has his eyes set on the 19-year-old.
Monitoring from Arsenal and Liverpool
FootballTransfers, citing a TeamTalk report, said both Arsenal and Liverpool are monitoring Xavi Espart.
PSG match details
Barcelona lost 4-2 to PSG on Tuesday. Xavi Espart scored Barcelona’s first goal against PSG. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia left the field after an hour with a suspected ACL injury, and Xavi Espart was substituted with 15 minutes of the match remaining.
Season numbers and AS verdict
Xavi Espart is 19 years old and has featured on 14 occasions for Hansi Flick’s side. It was his second goal of the season and he also has two assists.
AS hailed Xavi Espart’s performance: "Stellar. He made his first start at right-back and did so with an overwhelming presence. He completely neutralised a player of Kvaratskhelia's calibre and even had time to get forward and score a fantastic goal, thanks to an excellent assist from Fermin."
Contract and release clause
Xavi Espart is already under contract until 2030. FootballTransfers said Barcelona would reject any offers for Xavi Espart unless a bid matched his release clause.
According to the TeamTalk report cited by FootballTransfers, Xavi Espart has a release clause of 'well above €100 million'. FootballTransfers said the broad agreement is that Xavi Espart’s release clause is at least €100m.
