A trader who moved within one second of Binance’s listing announcement for Niu Lai still ended the trade in the red after paying steep execution costs. According to on-chain analyst Ember, the trader used a private RPC channel to buy immediately after Binance posted the listing notice at 19:30 on Sept. 9. To secure priority, the trader paid 42.4 BNB, worth about $31,000, to validator node BNB48 Club as a bribe, plus another 6.87 BNB, or roughly $5,150, in gas fees. The trader then spent 200 BNB, about $150,000, to buy 1.422 million Niu Lai tokens at around $0.10 each. Within 15 minutes, the entire position was sold at about $0.12, bringing back roughly 172,000 USDT. The trade itself generated an estimated profit of $22,000. Even so, the combined cost of the node payment and gas came to about $36,000, leaving the trader with an actual loss of around $14,000 after expenses. Ember said the trader did secure an early fill, but the token’s subsequent move was not large enough to cover the aggressive front-running costs.

BlockBeats reported on Sept. 9 that, according to on-chain analyst Ember, a news trader bought Niu Lai through a private RPC channel within one second after Binance published its listing announcement at 19:30.

The trader paid 42.4 BNB, worth about $31,000, to node operator BNB48 Club as a bribe and spent another 6.87 BNB, or roughly $5,150, on gas. The trader then used 200 BNB, worth about $150,000, to buy 1.422 million Niu Lai tokens at around $0.10.

Within 15 minutes, the trader sold the full position at about $0.12 and received roughly 172,000 USDT back. On the trade alone, that worked out to a profit of about $22,000.

But the node bribe and gas costs together reached about $36,000. After those expenses, the trader ended up losing about $14,000. Ember said that although the trader did manage to secure an early execution spot, Niu Lai’s later price rise was not enough to offset the high front-running cost.
