The crypto market is still facing pressure. CoinGecko data shows Bitcoin (BTC) has fallen more than 7% over the past month, with the total market capitalization hovering near $2.9 trillion. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index has dropped to 40, placing sentiment in the “Fear” zone and pointing to softer risk appetite.

Bitcoin trades around $83,000
According to the latest CoinGecko market data, Bitcoin was priced at about $83,296, down roughly 7.7% over the past 30 days. Its trading range in the last 24 hours was about $81,018 to $84,231.
A Binance market snapshot for the same period showed BTC at about $82,700, down 1.25% over 24 hours, with an intraday low of $80,963. That kept the $80,000 round-number level in focus as a support area the market is watching closely.
Bitcoin is still about 34% below its record high of around $126,000, and the market has yet to regain the earlier upside momentum.
Total crypto market cap stands near $2.89 trillion
On the broader market, CoinGecko data showed total global cryptocurrency capitalization at about $2.89 trillion. Bitcoin accounted for about $1.67 trillion of that total, or roughly 58% of the market.
Stablecoins, meanwhile, had a combined market capitalization of about $307 billion, equal to around 10.7% of the crypto market, highlighting their weight in the overall market structure.
Fear & Greed Index falls into Fear territory
CoinGecko showed the Crypto Fear & Greed Index at 40, which places it in the “Fear” range and indicates investors have become more cautious on the near-term outlook.
With Bitcoin’s monthly decline still not reversed, the market is watching whether BTC can hold the $80,000 level and whether trading volume and institutional fund flows improve. The source article said that if price falls below that key support again, short-term volatility and leveraged liquidation risk could rise further.
