OpenSea has officially launched OpenSea Mobile, a new app that combines traders, wallets, and digital assets on a single platform. The app supports multiple wallets, works across 25 blockchains, and aggregates trading information from major crypto platforms in real time. Users can also follow friends and top traders to track the latest activity.
Cross-chain assets and social activity in one app
OpenSea Mobile allows users to import existing wallets through a QR code or private key and view tokens, collectibles, and artwork inside the app. A central feature is its social layer, which lets users follow friends and top traders and watch trading activity as it happens.
Through OpenSea Signals, anyone can attach a note to a purchase to explain the reason behind the trade. Those notes are sent together with the transaction to all followers, giving them a view of not just what was bought, but also why it was bought.
OpenSea co-founder Devin Finzer said the company had long expected new economic systems to emerge beyond what people initially imagined. He said OpenSea wants to help build those systems and help millions of people take their first step into owning digital assets. According to Finzer, the app gives users a single interface for all assets, can be set up in one minute, and makes it possible to keep up with the latest moves from friends and traders at any time.
Referral program offers rewards to both sides
OpenSea Mobile also includes a two-way referral program. New users who register with a friend’s invite code receive a permanent 10% discount on trading fees. The person who shared the code continues to receive 25% of the trading fees generated by that user.
OpenSea said it also has network-wide tracking coverage across all tokens, addresses, and protocols in the market, and that token pages can aggregate holders and transaction records in real time.
The state of NFT trading platforms
Blur, which once took the top spot in trading volume through airdrops and zero fees, has announced that its marketplace frontend will shut down on Nov. 12. The platform’s monthly trading volume peaked at $1.43 billion in March 2023, but had fallen to less than $7 million by March 2026, a drop of more than 99.5%.
Data cited in the report showed that of 56 early NFT platforms founded between 2017 and 2023, only 21 remain in operation. Platforms that shut down lasted an average of just 3.9 years. The broader market has also contracted. Monthly sales across the network fell to $167.2 million in September 2026, down 91% from the 2023 peak.
OpenSea’s own annual fee revenue also dropped sharply, from $1.55 billion in 2022 to $25.1 million in 2025.
