Weekly crypto project roundup: Dogecoin Labs launches, OpenSea app opens to the public, Starknet backs independent network study

A busy week across crypto projects brought a mix of product launches, governance votes, security incidents and tokenomics changes. Dogecoin Labs was formally launched with support from the Dogecoin Foundation, bringing together the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS app platform and the Such App payments product under a new independent entity led by DogeOS founder Jordan Jefferson. OpenSea also opened its app to the public, with CEO Devin Finzer saying the product combines social trading feeds, wallet onboarding and cross-wallet asset tracking with token, meme coin and NFT trading. Elsewhere, Starknet token holders used more than 93.5% of voting power to support a research proposal on whether the network should evolve from an Ethereum Layer 2 into an independent quantum-resistant Layer 1. Zcash developers aligned on a planned NU7 activation around Nov. 5, while Aave founder Stani said Aavenomics 3.0 will include AAVE buybacks, staking and burns. Uniswap Labs rolled out Aggregator Hooks on Ethereum, Base and Robinhood Chain. The week also included a major security disclosure from Qubic, which said 1,404 wallets were compromised after attackers exploited weak seed randomness, and a lawsuit filed by a Circle shareholder against U.S. President Donald Trump and World Liberty Financial over transactions tied to the UAE.

OpenSea Opens Its Mobile App to All Users and Offers Referrers 25% of Fees

OpenSea has opened its mobile app to all users and said it will pay referrers 25% of fees. The NFT marketplace also shared early usage figures from the app’s beta phase, saying that 76% of the more than 56,000 people who signed up were active. In describing the product, OpenSea said the app’s social feed is built from trades taking place across crypto apps, rather than being limited to activity from OpenSea’s own users. The update combines broader access to the app with a referral incentive and a social feed that pulls in market activity from outside OpenSea’s own platform.

OpenSea opens its mobile app to all users, adds social trading features

OpenSea said its mobile app is now available to all users, expanding access to trading across more than 25 blockchains. The app supports Meme coins, art, trading cards and perpetual contracts, according to the company. OpenSea co-founder and CEO Devin Finzer said the release also brings a new social trading feature that pulls together trader profiles and trading records from fomo, pump and Farcaster. Users can follow those traders, monitor wallet activity and import their own wallets to claim a profile. The app currently also supports filtering by trading platform. In addition, users can quickly create a wallet, fund it with Apple Pay, or connect and import an existing wallet to view and trade all assets in one place. OpenSea also said users can set NFTs as onchain profile pictures through the app.

OpenSea launches mobile app with support for 25 blockchains and social trade tracking

OpenSea has rolled out OpenSea Mobile, a new app that brings wallets, traders, and digital assets into one interface. The app supports multiple wallets and 25 blockchains, while aggregating trading activity from major crypto platforms in real time. Users can import existing wallets with a QR code or private key, monitor tokens, collectibles, and artwork, and follow friends or top traders to keep up with market activity. OpenSea also introduced OpenSea Signals, a feature that lets buyers attach notes to purchases so followers can see not only what was bought, but why. The launch includes a referral system with rewards on both sides: new users who sign up with an invite code receive a permanent 10% trading fee discount, while inviters continue to receive 25% of the trading fees generated by those users. The report also highlighted pressure across the NFT marketplace sector, including Blur’s planned frontend shutdown on Nov. 12, a steep drop in NFT platform survival rates, shrinking market sales, and OpenSea’s own fee revenue decline from 2022 to 2025.

Yield Fields Sells Out 3,333 Land NFTs on Robinhood Chain in About 30 Seconds

A farming game that has not yet launched has pulled off one of the louder NFT sales seen in crypto gaming in recent months. On Oct. 13, Yield Fields sold all 3,333 of its Yield Fields Deeds NFTs on Robinhood Chain roughly 30 seconds after the public sale opened. Based on the final public clearing price, the sale was worth about $8.3 million. The project was created by Skarly, a game developer previously involved with Wolf Game and the creator of Onchain Heroes. The Deeds NFTs represent in-game land and were sold through a Dutch auction that was supposed to run for 24 hours, with prices starting at 1 ETH and potentially falling to 0.069 ETH. Instead, demand cleared the sale almost immediately at about 0.999688 ETH per NFT. PANews said the sale reflects more than a single successful mint. It also shows how smaller crypto game teams are using existing communities, NFT issuance, and the attention around newer chains to launch fresh projects. In this case, Robinhood Chain has become the new venue as developers reassess where to build after Abstract, the Ethereum Layer 2 launched by Igloo, announced it would shut down on Dec. 15.

Alex Fong’s NFT loss puts the spotlight back on the bill left by celebrity-driven profile picture mania

Hong Kong actor and singer Alex Fong said in a 2026 interview that he bought NFTs during the pandemic after purchasing a home and then losing acting income, and that the losses were larger than what he had previously lost in stocks. He said the amount was so large that he did not dare tell his family, even when his wife repeatedly asked how many digits were involved. The disclosure reopened a broader question that has followed the NFT boom for years: celebrities were often the face of the craze, but the financial damage largely stayed with buyers who paid in ETH and were later left holding illiquid assets. The story traces that cycle through several projects and purchases tied to well-known names. Jay Chou-linked Phanta Bear sold 10,000 NFTs at 0.26 ETH in 40 minutes in January 2022, while JVR Music later said Chou only received a gifted NFT and was not involved in planning or operations. Shawn Yue’s ZombieClub, Edison Chen-led RED NVLPE, and Stephen Chow’s Nobody all drew attention at launch, but later floor prices and trading activity showed how quickly momentum faded. The same pattern appeared overseas: Justin Bieber’s 500 ETH Bored Ape purchase was later estimated by Decrypt to be down about 99% based on floor pricing, while Kevin Hart’s former Ape was resold at a much lower ETH price. Neymar’s purchases and Paris Hilton’s televised promotion added to the visibility, but not to any guarantee of exit liquidity.
