The company purchased 34,164 Bitcoin at an average price of approximately $74,395 per coin, for a total consideration of $2.54 billion. This brings its total holdings to 815,061 BTC, reinforcing the trend of corporate treasuries allocating capital to digital assets.
Acquisition Details and Funding
Executive Chairman Michael Saylor teased the purchase with an orange dot on X (formerly Twitter) before the company filed an 8-K with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Saylor stated: “Strategy acquired 34,164 BTC at ~$74,395 for ~$2.54 billion. Year-to-date BTC yield stands at 9.5%. As of April 19, we hold 815,061 Bitcoin acquired for ~$61.56 billion at an average price of ~$75,527 per coin.”
The purchase was funded through the company’s at-the-market (ATM) equity issuance program. During the reporting period, Strategy raised $2.5423 billion via equity sales, including $2.1763 billion from 21,795,389 shares of STRC preferred stock and $366 million from 2,165,000 shares of Class A common stock. The filing also revealed remaining capacity of approximately $19.463 billion under the STRC program and $26.7297 billion under the common stock program, indicating ample dry powder for future acquisitions.
