Ventuals Core Team Joins Phantom
On June 30, Phantom co-founder and CEO Brandon Millman announced that three key members of the Ventuals team — Alvin Hsia, Emily Hsia, and Aris Samad — are joining Phantom, starting this week. Ventuals is a perpetual futures trading product built on Hyperliquid, widely regarded as one of the most sophisticated in the ecosystem, having grown to over $1 billion in annualized trading volume. The trio will join Phantom's trading and data teams to drive the wallet's expansion into derivatives.
Backgrounds: Top-Tier Product and Trading Experience
Alvin, Emily, and Aris are highly respected in the perpetual futures space. Together they created Ventuals, which became one of the highest-volume trading products on Hyperliquid. Their individual backgrounds span Airbnb, Brex, and Paradigm, making them the kind of senior, experienced builders Phantom actively seeks. Millman emphasized that they are "exactly the kind of senior, experienced builders we want at Phantom" and will contribute directly to innovations around smart contracts, order book design, and institutional-grade trading experiences.
Phantom's Hyperliquid Ecosystem Strategy
Over the past year, Phantom became the largest distribution partner in the Hyperliquid ecosystem, with open markets becoming a major focus. The company has gone deep on perpetuals and intends to go deeper. Hyperliquid exemplifies what open markets make possible: deep, global liquidity and transparent onchain infrastructure that the whole industry is converging on. Bringing in people who built at the frontier of open perpetuals on Hyperliquid itself is how Phantom accelerates that work. Phantom aims to be a key builder in the Hyperliquid ecosystem and help it grow.
Open Market Vision: Redefining the Wallet
Phantom's ambition extends beyond any single product: it wants to "connect the world to the freedom of open markets," believing open networks will beat closed systems because builders, liquidity, and people can connect without permission. Phantom is redefining what a wallet can be by giving consumers the best trading experience anywhere, built on open networks where markets are global, real-time, and open to everyone. This conviction drives Phantom's evolution from a self-custody wallet toward a "super app," and adding builders of this caliber moves it closer to that goal, faster.
Phantom welcomes the Ventuals team and is actively hiring more talent.
