SlowMist says deprecated Enso vault lost about 5.6 ETH in oracle pricing flaw

SlowMist said Enso Finance’s DPI Strategy Vault lost about 5.6 ETH after an oracle pricing error was exploited. The security firm traced the issue to a flawed valuation path that produced prices close to spot quotes, without a time-weighted average price, or TWAP, consistency check and without price range validation. It also said the Uniswap V3 pool used for valuation had imbalanced liquidity. According to SlowMist, the attacker swapped 0.683 WETH for 268.42 FARM in a single trade on Uniswap V2. The imbalanced V3 pool then mispriced that trade at 6.3 WETH, roughly 9.2 times the actual value. Using that incorrect valuation, the attacker minted excess vault shares and redeemed them for profit. Enso later responded on X, saying the contract involved had been deprecated more than four years ago. The team said users had previously been advised to withdraw through official channels including Discord, Twitter and GitHub. Enso added that its current infrastructure does not use those contracts and that the current stack has gone through more than 12 production audits.

Acer unveils local AI PCs, ultraportables and a retro turntable as Packard Bell returns

Acer used its latest product launch to roll out a wide spread of devices, from local AI machines and lightweight laptops to gaming handhelds and retro-styled consumer hardware. The lineup included the Acer SFFF RTX Spark mini AI PC, the Veriton Ri 110 AI business workstation, the Swift Blade 14 ultraportable, the modular Vero 16 laptop, and gaming-focused handheld products such as Predator Atlas 7 and the Project Dual Play Mini concept device. A notable part of the event was the return of the Packard Bell retro series. One of the most eye-catching products was the Dot Loop turntable. Acer presented it as a vinyl player that can play physical records while also supporting Bluetooth connectivity and voice control. On the computing side, Acer said its SFFF RTX Spark mini PC is designed for local AI workloads and can run 120 billion-parameter models without connecting to cloud servers, while the Veriton Ri 110 targets enterprise inference and automation tasks. The event also highlighted Acer’s push into lighter laptop designs, repairable hardware, and hybrid gaming form factors.

Semiconductor, memory and optical networking stocks slip in U.S. premarket trade, with CRDO down 8.77%

U.S. stocks tied to semiconductors, memory and optical communications moved lower in Wednesday premarket trading, according to market data from BIT (bit.com) cited by BlockBeats on Sept. 2. The decline was broad but mostly modest across semiconductor names, including Lam Research, Intel, Applied Materials and Arm. Memory stocks also traded lower, with SK Hynix, Micron Technology, Western Digital, SanDisk and Seagate Technology all in the red before the open. Optical networking and related names showed the sharpest weakness among the groups mentioned. Astera Labs, Applied Optoelectronics, Coherent and Lumentum all posted declines, while Credo stood out with an 8.77% drop, the steepest fall among the listed stocks. The move reflected a generally softer tone across the three hardware-related segments in premarket trading rather than an isolated decline in a single name.

Hugging Face’s Microduck sells more than 10,000 units, powered by Rockchip’s RK3566

Hugging Face’s consumer robot push is off to a strong start. The Microduck, an open-source robot duck developed by its French subsidiary Pollen Robotics, has sold more than 10,000 units since going on sale last Thursday, according to CNBC. At $399 apiece, that puts revenue above $4 million, and new orders are now delayed until after Christmas 2026. The robot stands about 25 cm tall, weighs less than 0.9 kg, and moves on two legs with 15 motors. Its sensing, motor control and on-device computing come from Rockchip’s RK3566, a chip based on technology licensed from ARM.

Waller’s hawkish Jackson Hole debut resets September hike odds as AI names head into a crucial earnings week

Markets started the new week repricing the Federal Reserve after Chair Waller’s first keynote speech since taking office at Jackson Hole. He said recent improvement in PCE and CPI had not yet produced a “meaningful improvement” in underlying inflation and warned that the Fed still had work to do if inflation failed to return to the 2% target clearly and quickly enough. Traders moved fast: the implied probability of a September rate hike jumped from about 40% to 62.6%, while the 2-year U.S. Treasury yield rose roughly 12 basis points to around 4.36%. U.S. equities closed lower on Friday, with the Dow down 0.02%, the S&P 500 off 0.25%, and the Nasdaq falling 0.52%. Semiconductor stocks gave back gains after the post-NVIDIA rally, while cloud and software shares outperformed on expectations that AI commercialization could direct a large share of inference spending toward Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. Barclays said AI model companies may send $35-$45 of every $100 in revenue to inference compute, with cloud vendors capturing about $10-$20 in operating profit. Commodities also reacted sharply. Gold fell more than 3% and dropped below $4,400, touching $4,396 and breaking its 200-day moving average, while silver lost more than 4%. Oil moved the other way after U.S.-Iran tensions escalated near the Strait of Hormuz. The week ahead centers on the Sept. 4 U.S. August nonfarm payrolls report and a packed slate of AI-related earnings, including Broadcom, Dell, Snowflake, Credo, MongoDB, Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler, and Ciena.

Serenity Slams Paid Walls in Research Circles, Keeps Subscription at $1

Serenity said on X that when he first joined the platform, finance content was dominated by luxury watches, private jets, options trades, "Wall Street secrets" paid groups, and technical analysis charts. That experience, he said, pushed him to share his research and investment logic openly so anyone can read it for free and decide for themselves. He said his subscription price has stayed at $1 for months and will remain at the minimum level. He also described a pattern he sees in the space: creators compete for the same audience, then quickly funnel traffic to paid groups or expensive services; after he refuses to join or promote those groups, they attack him personally and frame it as a disagreement over fundamentals. Serenity listed a long set of investment ideas he has previously shared, including AXTI, NBIS, AEHR, MU, INTC, EWY, MRVL, LITE, RPI, IQE, SOI, TSEM, ARM, and COHR. He said some have performed well, while others are still waiting on industry developments, such as LPKF’s glass substrates and Auros’ hybrid bonding. He also said some themes may not be tested until 2027-2028, including Sivers, Foci, Shunsin, CCXI, XFAB, CPO, humanoid systems, and his latest work on Etron/ESMT DDR2 and DDR3.

Nvidia Earnings Lift AI Hardware Names as Q3 Outlook Comes In Strong

Nvidia reported results on Aug. 27 showing fiscal 2027 second-quarter revenue of $96.2 billion, up 106% year over year, with data center revenue reaching $89.0 billion, up 117%. The company also issued Q3 revenue guidance of $108 billion and said fiscal 2028 revenue is expected to grow by about 70%. WEEX TradFi data showed a rally across AI hardware stocks after the release. Lumentum (LITE) gained 10.16% over 24 hours, Arm (ARM) rose 8.19%, and Western Digital (WDC) added 7.82%. WEEX Labs said the latest move was driven by an "AI inflection point + strong growth guidance" and noted that capital is rotating from GPU-related names toward optical interconnect and storage. It added that the near-term focus remains on guidance repricing, while warning of pullback volatility once expectations are fully priced in.
