How an unofficial FAMI token helped send Farmmi stock up about 350% intraday
Farmmi, the Nasdaq-listed mushroom seller trading under ticker FAMI, briefly jumped from $0.12 to $0.50 on Sept. 2, with volume hitting 720 million shares, roughly 90 times its daily average. The trigger was not an official tokenized-stock mechanism on Robinhood Chain, but a meme coin called JINQIAN paired with an onchain asset using the FAMI ticker. GMGN data showed JINQIAN reached an implied valuation of about $60 million at its peak, around 10 times Farmmi’s market capitalization at the time. A key detail, though, is that the onchain FAMI token was not an official Robinhood-issued stock token. Onchain analyst riley_gmi said on X that FAMI was not on Robinhood’s official tokenized-stock list. The episode highlighted a different transmission path: not mint-and-redeem arbitrage tied to real shares, but attention, confusion, and social media spillover that may have pushed traders into the actual stock.
