Pudgy Penguins co-founder’s Spritehood NFT mint sells out in 53 minutes on Robinhood Chain

Cole Villemain, a co-founder of Pudgy Penguins who was removed from the project by community vote in 2022, returned to the NFT market on Aug. 11 with a new collection called Spritehood on Robinhood Chain. The drop featured 44,444 NFTs under the WISP label and sold out in 53 minutes, generating about $1.28 million in revenue, or roughly 684 ETH. Of the total supply, 42,956 were paid mints, while 1,488 had been distributed for free before the public sale. Pricing was split between 37,430 mints at $17 each and 5,526 mints at $117, with the extra $100 tied to an upgrade option. The project uses an RPG-style structure with 10 classes, and holders can later burn Wisp NFTs to summon customizable sprites. The launch also drew renewed attention to Villemain’s history, including the 2022 treasury controversy around Pudgy Penguins and earlier claims highlighted by ZachXBT. On Aug. 13, Robinhood Chain posted $1.05 million in 24-hour NFT trading volume, above Ethereum’s less than $525,000 during the same period, according to the source article.

Robinhood Chain daily active addresses jump to 5.2 million, with Uniswap leading activity

Robinhood Chain has posted an abrupt surge in on-chain activity, with daily active addresses rising from a typical level of about 280,000 to 1.9 million on Aug. 11 and then above 5.2 million on Aug. 12. According to BlockBeats, the spike was mainly driven by three applications on the network: Uniswap, StonkPit and OpenSea. Uniswap accounted for the largest share of that activity, spanning trading, liquidity pools and the Poolstrade launchpad. Robinhood Chain integrated Uniswap early on as its main AMM liquidity layer, while OpenSea supports trading in stock tokens, NFTs and community tokens on the network. The report said Robinhood’s built-in user funnel, supported by Robinhood Wallet integration, low-friction onboarding and possible incentive programs, gives it an edge in converting traditional finance users into on-chain participants. At the same time, the sharp jump in daily active data should be treated carefully, as such moves can include bots, wash-volume accounts, incentive farming users and other low-quality addresses. The market is now watching whether the growth can hold once meme speculation, short-term campaigns or gas subsidies fade.

StonkBrokers Floor Price Climbs to 9.225 ETH, Up Over 20% in 24 Hours

On Aug. 8, StonkBrokers' floor price climbed to 9.225 ETH, up more than 20% in 24 hours, according to OpenSea data cited by BlockBeats. Cumulative trading volume for the project has reached 1,734 ETH. StonkBrokers is a pixel-art stock-broker PFP collection with a fixed supply of 4,444 tokens on ERC-721. Every NFT is tied to an ERC-6551 token-bound account, preloaded at mint with tokenized stocks like TSLA, AMZN, NVDA and AAPL. Through the Anvil NFT AMM, users can pay 666,666 STONKBROKER plus a small ETH fee to redeem a random StonkBroker NFT from the protocol vault, or sell an NFT back for the same amount of tokens. To earn stock token rewards, holders need to activate their NFTs using STONKBROKER; higher activation levels increase the weight of those rewards. About 70% of Anvil AMM trading fees are converted into real stock tokens and airdropped to activated wallets. BlockBeats cautioned that the project remains uncertain and volatile.

Rarible launches Solana NFT marketplace with Claynosaurz as first featured collection

Rarible said on Thursday that its NFT marketplace is now live on Solana, with Claynosaurz selected as the first featured drop. The platform now lists Solana alongside Ethereum, MegaETH and Base, and includes dedicated Solana Explore, Mint and Gacha pages. Solana’s verified X account amplified the launch the same morning. In its own launch statement, Rarible said it had spent months building, testing and preparing the rollout without announcing it, and described its earlier Gacha Station release on the network as a preview of what was coming. The company also said it had spent weeks speaking with NFT communities across Solana and that the feedback helped shape how the marketplace works. Rarible said more collections will be added over the coming days and weeks, calling the launch “only the foundation.” The move extends Rarible’s push beyond Ethereum, where it has also launched its own network, RARI Chain.

POAP shuts down after five years, with more than 6.7 million badges remaining on-chain

Proof of Attendance Protocol, better known as POAP, has formally ended operations after five years, closing a product that became closely tied to the rise of NFT culture. The project had already paused services and entered maintenance mode on March 16 this year, and its latest announcement confirms that the shutdown is final. POAP began at ETHDenver in 2019 as a way to issue blockchain-verified digital badges to prove attendance at events. As NFTs surged in 2021, the product expanded across crypto conferences, DAO governance meetings and community gatherings, eventually issuing more than 6.7 million badges on-chain. According to the project, those previously minted badges will remain as permanent records on the blockchain, and existing user rights will not be affected. The team said it will continue user support but stop issuing new attendance badges. ABMedia reported that the developers will now shift their focus to a new initiative called Open Collectibles Standard. The report also noted that POAP had raised $10 million in January 2022 to upgrade its product architecture and address issues such as spam, but analysis cited in the article said the project struggled to build a lasting business model without a native token.

Stripe’s reported $10 billion OpenRouter talks put OpenSea co-founder Alex Atallah’s aggregation play back in focus

The reported talks between Stripe and OpenRouter have revived scrutiny of Alex Atallah’s second major startup after OpenSea. According to earlier reporting by The Wall Street Journal cited in the source article, Stripe is discussing an acquisition of OpenRouter at roughly $10 billion. That figure stands in sharp contrast to OpenRouter’s post-money valuation of $1.3 billion in May and its annualized revenue of about $50 million as of March 2026. The article argues that Atallah has not fundamentally changed his entrepreneurial playbook from Web3 to AI. OpenSea aggregated NFT listings and took a cut of each transaction without minting NFTs itself. OpenRouter follows the same structure in AI: it does not train models or own data centers, but aggregates access to more than 400 models from over 70 providers behind a single API and charges roughly 5% on inference spend. The piece frames the central question around supplier power. OpenSea’s upstream market was fragmented, while OpenRouter faces dominant AI labs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. In that sense, the reported price is presented less as a cash-flow multiple and more as a bet on whether AI models become interchangeable infrastructure. The source also notes that the deal may still fall apart or attract competing bidders.

OpenSea CMO Adam Hollander to Leave This Week After 18 Months

OpenSea Chief Marketing Officer Adam Hollander said on X that he will leave the company this week after a year and a half in the role. He described the move as driven more by personal reasons than professional ones, and said it was not tied to another job opportunity. Hollander added that he remains confident in OpenSea’s direction, product, and team. He said his next focus will be on his health, family, and personal life. OpenSea co-founder and CEO Devin Finzer replied that he was glad to have worked alongside Hollander and said the team would keep communicating with the community in an open manner. Hollander joined OpenSea in early 2025.

Forma chain to shut down, with NFTs and Modularium moving to Ethereum

Forma chain said it will cease operations and move key assets to Ethereum. The network, built on Astria and Celestia, said Modularium and Forma NFT will be migrated to Ethereum layer 1 to preserve both the artworks and the marketplace tied to them. After the move, users will be able to trade their NFTs on OpenSea and other Ethereum-based marketplaces, while Modularium will remain the home for those collections. The team also asked users to withdraw funds through the Forma bridge during the transition. Any funds that are not withdrawn will be manually transferred to an EVM-compatible chain that will be announced later. The project said it aims to make the transition as smooth as possible.
