Apple and Google seek hires with stablecoin expertise for payments and digital asset roles
Apple and Google are recruiting for finance and payments positions that list stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and related digital asset knowledge as preferred qualifications, according to Bloomingbit. The hiring activity points to internal evaluation of how digital asset infrastructure could be used in payments and financial services, though there is no evidence that either company plans to launch its own stablecoin or roll out a specific product. Apple posted a U.S.-based opening on Aug. 26 for a head of financial product strategy for Apple Pay. The role covers long-term strategy for financial services including Apple Card and Apple Cash, while also identifying new growth areas. Apple said knowledge of stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and blockchain technology would be preferred, and that the successful candidate would work with product teams to assess emerging opportunities. Google’s hiring focus appears more geared toward institutional digital asset infrastructure. Its Hong Kong-based principal architect, Web3 industry role is intended to support Google Cloud’s Web3 and digital asset business across Asia-Pacific. Preferred qualifications for that position include expertise in RWA tokenization, stablecoin payment networks, tokenized deposits, and digital asset custody.
