Bayern Munich chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen said a large club delegation would travel to London on 26 October for the Ballon d'Or ceremony. He said Bayern would be delighted to see Harry Kane win the award.
London trip and award hopes
Dreesen confirmed that Bayern Munich would send a large delegation to London for the Ballon d'Or ceremony on 26 October. He signed off by saying the club would travel “with all humility, in the hope of celebrating winning an award or two”.
Dreesen's view of Kane
Dreesen said: “Harry breaks records year after year, but his 73 goals with Bayern Munich and the England national team carry special significance this time,” He also called Kane “a striker with a 360-degree field of vision”.
Dreesen said Kane sees the whole pitch, works tirelessly and lifts his team-mates to a higher level. He added that Kane has kept refining his game and helped transform how the entire team plays.
Example on and off the pitch
Dreesen described Kane as a world-class star who blends humility with class and sets an outstanding example on and off the pitch.
Other Bayern nominees
Dreesen said Michael Olise deserves his place among the Ballon d'Or nominees and predicted he will win the award one day. He also said four Bayern Munich players from the squad feature among the nominees for the first time in ten years, while Vincent Kompany was nominated among the best coaches in the world.
Dreesen added that both the Bayern women's and men's teams are up for the best club award for the first time.
