Zvonimir Boban made remarks about Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes during Sky Sport Italia’s coverage of Como versus Manchester United on Wednesday. The match at the Stadio Sinigaglia was part of the Champions League league phase.
Studio role on Wednesday
Boban was among the pundits in the studio for Sky Sport Italia’s coverage of the match. Bruno Fernandes was named in the Manchester United starting line-up for the visit to Como on Wednesday evening.
Boban's view of Fernandes
The former Milan midfielder said: "Bruno Fernandes is a good player, but they are acting as if he’s a top star, and he does not belong at that level of football."
What he said about Manchester United
Boban added: "As long as he is the best player at Manchester United, then Manchester United will not have a present or future at a strong level. We are talking about a perfectly good player, he understands football, moves in spaces, reads it well, but he is a very long way off the level of what ought to be a leader at a club like Manchester United."
