TEAMtalk reported that, after Chema Andres moved to Brighton, Brighton sources insist Real Madrid do not hold a buy-back option on the player.
Brighton position
According to Brighton sources, Brighton insist Real Madrid do not have a buy-back option on Chema Andres. TEAMtalk also reported that some Spanish sources told it they believe the relatively modest transfer fee suggests there could still be a connection between the clubs.
Transfer timeline
Real Madrid previously held a buy-back option on Andres but chose not to activate it during the summer. Brighton moved to sign the 21-year-old on deadline day in September, paying just over £15million. Andres had joined Stuttgart in the summer of 2025 before moving to Brighton 12 months later.
Andres on a future return
Andres said during the most recent international break: "For me, as I’ve always said, Madrid is the club that has given me everything, and for me it would be an honor to return."
He also said: "But right now I’m not thinking about that because I’ve just arrived at Brighton and I feel great there, but that is always a possibility."
