Manchester United drew 1-1 away to Leeds United at Elland Road, extending their winless Premier League run to five matches and their run without a victory in all competitions to six. Bryan Mbeumo scored for Manchester United before Dominic Calvert-Lewin's second-half equaliser for Leeds.
Carrick on the result
Michael Carrick said: "We are not getting too carried away, because we didn’t win, but if you keep doing the right things for the right reasons you get what you deserve in the end."
Carrick said: "It wasn't a perfect performance, it wasn't our most unbelievable performance, but there was definitely a lot in there that you can show how together the group were. It felt like a fresh start today."
Lisandro Martinez went off at half-time.
Farke's reaction
Daniel Farke said: "It says a lot that we are even slightly disappointed with a point against Manchester United. You always have to be aware, it is still Manchester United. Many, many compliments to my players for a dominant performance against Man United."
Noting that it was United who had changed shape because of the opposition, Farke said: "It says a lot about how much respect we've earned."
Claims over Carrick and Fernandes
TEAMtalk reported that, for now, the club intends to stick by their manager.
Football Italia said Michael Carrick is unlikely to be sacked and replaced by Antonio Conte at this stage.
Football Italia, citing Express.co.uk, said many Manchester United players reportedly feel Carrick deserves to keep his job.
TEAMtalk, attributing the claim to Football Insider, said nothing has been agreed yet in the talks over a new Bruno Fernandes deal and Manchester United have no plans to lose him anytime soon.
