Bielsa and Deschamps included
Planet Football listed Marcelo Bielsa and Didier Deschamps among its leftfield suggestions to replace Carrick. The report says Bielsa's three-year Uruguay reign ended after their World Cup exit in the summer, and that he is in his seventies.
The report says Deschamps made way for Zinedine Zidane after the 2026 World Cup. Deschamps said: "I’m available, and everybody knows it. I won’t retire after the World Cup."
Motta's recent record
The report says Motta worked at Bologna before moving to Juventus. It says he was sacked by Juventus by March of his first season and has been out of work for over a year and a half since.
Conceicao's jobs
The report says Conceicao had a seven-year reign with Porto and won three league titles there. It also says Conceicao only lasted half a year at AC Milan and failed to get them into Europe, before leaving Al-Ittihad at the end of last season.
Southgate stance
The report says Southgate has pretty much ruled out ever returning to a dugout at all.
