According to Relevo, Atletico Madrid are considering paying €25 million to sign Jonathan David permanently from Juventus after his early loan performances. David is at Atletico on loan with an option to buy.
Loan deal and agreed fee
Juventus Football Club S.p.A. said in a statement last summer: "Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announce that they have reached an agreement with Club Atlético de Madrid for the temporary transfer, free of charge, until 30 June 2027, of the rights to the sporting services of the player Jonathan Christian David. The agreement also gives Atlético de Madrid the option to acquire the rights to the player’s sporting services on a permanent basis. The agreed fee for a possible permanent transfer is €25 million, payable over four financial years"
What Relevo reported
According to Relevo, Atletico have already decided that they would like to make David’s stay permanent. Relevo reported that Atletico have already ‘allocated’ €25m of next year’s budget for the permanent acquisition of David from Juventus. Relevo also said Atletico Madrid will try to negotiate with Juventus, but they have already budgeted for the deal.
David's start at Atletico
David has three goals in four appearances in an Atletico shirt. He has provided a goal contribution in every LaLiga match he has appeared in so far.
Simeone's assessment
Simeone said after the Champions League win over Manchester United: "He has something we didn't have . He's a striker who naturally moves to the right and does a great deal of defensive work for the team,"
