TEAMtalk reported that Chelsea and Liverpool are both interested in signing Benfica right-back Daniel Banjaqui. The 18-year-old is under contract at Benfica until 2031, and TEAMtalk reported that the race remains at a very early stage.
Interest from Premier League clubs
According to TEAMtalk sources, Chelsea and Liverpool are both tracking Banjaqui. TEAMtalk also reported that interest in Banjaqui is growing and that several other clubs have also been named as interested.
No formal talks yet
TEAMtalk reported that no formal negotiations have yet begun, with clubs still at the scouting and information-gathering stage. The outlet also said the race to sign Banjaqui remains in the very early stages.
Benfica stance and price
Banjaqui extended his deal earlier in the year, leaving his release clause close to £45 million. TEAMtalk reported that Benfica could be open to discussions from around €35m-€40m, or £30m-£33m, but would prefer to keep Banjaqui and continue his development under Marco Silva.
