OpenUSD, the stablecoin initiative backed by Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, Coinbase and Shopify, has outlined how its governance body Open Standard plans to charge partners and distribute reserve income, according to CoinDesk. The documents say Open Standard will levy a 0.1 basis point management fee based on payment volume, capped at $0.01 per transaction. Payments of $1,000 or more hit that ceiling, while smaller transactions are charged at 0.1 basis point of value. The structure differs from USDT and USDC, whose issuers retain reserve interest; under the OpenUSD model, reserve yield is distributed to partners after the management fee is deducted. The materials also describe an equity participation mechanism tied to OUSD holdings and fund flows. Partners must hold at least $50 million to join the equity pool, and any single partner is limited to a maximum 5% stake. Visa has also published more than 100 pages of technical implementation and user guidance for partners integrating OUSD through the Visa stablecoin platform.

OpenUSD (OUSD), the stablecoin project launched by Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, Coinbase and Shopify, has disclosed how its governance organization Open Standard plans to charge management fees and share economics with partners, according to CoinDesk.

Documents show Open Standard will charge a 0.1 basis point management fee based on payment volume, with a maximum fee of $0.01 per payment. For payments of $1,000 or more, the $0.01 cap applies. Smaller payments are charged at 0.1 basis point of the transaction amount.

The reserve income model also differs from that used by USDT and USDC. While the issuers of those stablecoins keep reserve interest, OUSD will distribute reserve yield to partners after deducting the management fee.

Open Standard is also offering partners a way to obtain project equity based on OUSD holdings and fund flows. To participate in the equity pool, a partner must hold at least $50 million. A single partner can hold no more than 5% of the project.

Visa has separately released more than 100 pages of technical implementation documents and user guides for partners integrating OUSD through the Visa stablecoin platform.
