IMF warns slowing Asian factory activity and cooler AI demand could weigh on growth

The International Monetary Fund has warned that factory activity in Asia is slowing, according to a Techub News brief citing Crypto Briefing. The IMF said softer demand tied to artificial intelligence could point to broader economic challenges rather than a narrow industry shift. It also said the change may affect regional growth forecasts and the technology supply chain. The note links weakening factory momentum with a possible spillover into the wider economy, putting attention on how demand trends in AI-related sectors may feed through to production and trade across Asia. No additional figures or country-level breakdowns were provided in the brief.

Paradigm unstaked 2.55 million HYPE over two days, worth about $224 million

Odaily reported that Paradigm unstaked 2.55 million HYPE over the past two days through 15 different wallets, with the tokens valued at about $224 million. The amount accounts for 17.85% of the firm’s current 14.26 million HYPE staked on Hypercore, a position worth roughly $1.26 billion. A monitoring source said Paradigm had also carried out a large HYPE unstaking several weeks ago, then consolidated the tokens into a new wallet and staked them again. Based on that earlier pattern, the source expects a similar move may follow this time. Even so, the specific plan for the newly unstaked tokens has not been confirmed. The report did not provide further details on the destination or timing of any next transaction.

RUNE drops more than 20% in 24 hours, trades at 0.504 USDT

Market data showed RUNE, the token of THORChain, trading at 0.504 USDT after falling 20.22% over the past 24 hours. The token’s intraday low was 0.497 USDT. The move came after earlier developments tied to the Binance hack incident, when the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Secret Service, and IRS Criminal Investigation called on THORNode operators, RPC nodes, and DeFi service providers to block related transactions. THORChain co-founder Chad Barraford said the information available to node operators is entirely public. The report was published by Odaily.

South Korea Q3 GDP rises 1.0% as KOSPI drops about 8.5% over three months

South Korea’s central bank reported that the country’s GDP grew 1.0% quarter over quarter in Q3 2026, beating a 0.3% market expectation cited in the report. Within the breakdown, exports rose 2.3% and equipment investment increased 4.1%, while private consumption slipped 0.2%. Over the same three-month period, the KOSPI fell about 8.5%. Goldman Sachs cut its KOSPI target from 12000 to 9000, while saying the market assumption that chip-sector earnings will decline 65% in 2027 is too pessimistic. The report also said that in October, based on Korea time, South Korea’s exports reached $115.3 billion. Chip exports accounted for $56.4 billion, or about 49% of the total. The Bank of Korea kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 3.00%. According to the report, the market still sees room for additional rate hikes because of continued strength in the chip cycle. The item was cited by Techub News and attributed to BeInCrypto.

CXMT says its sixth-generation DRAM uses 4F² as Micron dismisses some debate around the approach as a “smokescreen”

Chinese memory maker ChangXin Memory Technologies, or CXMT, said in an investor relations record that its sixth-generation DRAM platform is built on a 4F² architecture, has passed engineering sample verification, and is expected to deliver its first samples to customers by the end of 2026. The disclosure was widely seen as a response to Micron’s earlier criticism of the 4F² path. Micron president and chief technology and products officer Scott DeBoer said at a technical seminar that the company will stay with 6F² and then move directly to 3D DRAM, adding that Micron has studied 4F² for more than 20 years and views some related discussion as a “smokescreen.” CXMT replied that memory-density gains are a complex system-engineering problem and that different architectures carry different trade-offs in process integration, lithography steps and thermal budget. The company also said its 4F² design uses vertical surround gate transistors and is backed by more than 300 public patent families. Samsung and SK hynix are still advancing their own 4F² work, while commentary cited by local media said CXMT’s update rattled global memory stocks because investors fear aggressive price competition from Chinese suppliers.

Musk Said to Revisit TSMC Terms for Terafab as Intel’s Role Draws Scrutiny

Elon Musk is reportedly taking a more pragmatic stance on the proposed Terafab wafer fab partnership with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), according to DIGITIMES. The report says Musk had previously insisted that Tesla and SpaceX would build and operate the facility themselves, with TSMC limited to leasing part of the site, but the two sides are now said to be preparing for renewed negotiations. TSMC Chairman C.C. Wei has already confirmed contact with the Terafab team and said clearly that any wafer fab would have to be operated by TSMC. DIGITIMES said the shift comes as the project has proven harder to execute than expected, with packaging progress in Texas, PCB capacity, chip yields, and construction speed all reportedly falling behind plan. Musk had also said earlier this month that PCB, optical modules, transformers, and thermal hardware were the biggest pressure points. The structure of any deal remains unsettled. No revised agreement has been confirmed, and there has been no public disclosure of the signing framework, investment size, or capacity allocation. Intel, which joined the Terafab plan in April and said on Oct. 7 that it would stay involved, is now another key question if TSMC ends up taking the lead.
