Bitcoin ETF inflows snap after nine days as Ether funds keep gaining; Bailey warns AI could trigger a financial shock

Crypto markets spent the past 24 hours balancing ETF flow data, shifting rate expectations and a fresh batch of regulatory and infrastructure developments. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs posted $201.9 million in net outflows on Aug. 28, ending a nine-session inflow streak that began in mid-August. Spot Ether ETFs moved the other way, taking in $102.1 million that day and stretching their run of positive flows to 10 straight sessions. According to SoSoValue, weekly flows still remained strong for both products, with Bitcoin funds adding $924 million over the Aug. 24-28 trading week and Ether funds bringing in $824 million. Macro pressure also remained in focus. Bitcoin held near $78,000 while the dollar strengthened and the yen slipped through 160 against the U.S. dollar. Ahead of Friday’s U.S. nonfarm payrolls report, CME FedWatch data showed traders assigning better-than-even odds to two Fed rate hikes this year. In parallel, Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey warned G20 finance officials that frontier AI models could magnify cyber risks and expose already stretched financial markets to more severe disruptions. Elsewhere, Ireland moved to exclude crypto from a planned tax-advantaged investment account, Japan’s Financial Services Agency proposed easing reporting rules for trust-based stablecoins from fiscal 2027, and several market structure stories landed at once, from DTCC’s tokenization timeline and CME’s new crypto indexes to exchange inflows, venture financing, and fresh security incidents on Fogo and Cronos.

Luno secures Bermuda Class F license to broaden institutional and settlement offering

Crypto platform Luno said it has received a Class F digital asset business license from the Bermuda Monetary Authority, giving the company a regulated base outside its core emerging markets. Luno said the approval places it alongside globally recognized operators including Coinbase, Circle and Kraken. The company said Bermuda can serve as a hub for its B2B and institutional push, allowing its crypto-as-a-service and global settlements products to reach clients beyond Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. Luno also described Bermuda as a jurisdiction built for digital assets and modern payments. According to the company, the license permits over-the-counter trading in cryptocurrencies, tokenized stocks and commodities, as well as the rand-backed stablecoin ZAR Universal. That token is issued by Luno sister company BlockTowerTech and is intended for institutional use. The approval also covers access to Luno’s full range of tradable assets in global spot markets, alongside wallet infrastructure for secure custody and transfers.

BitoPro tops CRIF survey in Taiwan, while points-to-crypto service lands in GBBC global handbook

BitoGroup said its crypto exchange BitoPro ranked first among local platforms in both most-used and most-trusted categories in the latest CRIF survey on Taiwan’s virtual asset industry and regulatory outlook. The company also said its points-to-crypto service was selected as Case No. 50 in the Global Blockchain Business Council’s 2026 handbook of 101 real-world blockchain use cases. According to the company, the CRIF results covered both retail and business segments. In the B2C market, BitoPro ranked first in both most-used and most-trusted categories. In the B2B market, it ranked first in trust and second in usage. BitoGroup also highlighted its enterprise push this year through Bito.Enterprise, a sub-brand focused on stablecoin settlement, points-to-crypto conversion, and a cryptocurrency payment gateway. It said its stablecoin settlement service, Bito.ONE, has already entered pilot and trial programs with four financial institutions and 10 companies. The GBBC case study features BitoGroup’s collaboration with FamilyMart, which lets users convert reward points from daily spending into virtual assets.

Dyna Robotics says its robots cleared the ROI bar and are rolling out across Din Tai Fung locations in the U.S.

Dyna Robotics said its robot product line has crossed the return-on-investment threshold and is already being deployed across Din Tai Fung’s U.S. stores. In a report titled "Not Just a Model, But a Product," the company framed the milestone as a commercial one rather than a pure AI-model achievement. According to Dyna, Din Tai Fung required a single robot to fold 1,500 napkins within an 18-hour shift window. Dyna-2 delivered 1,590 napkins per day, surpassing that target without running at full speed. The company also said its systems are being deployed in logistics warehouses, hotels, and data centers, and projected cumulative installations could reach the hundreds by the first half of 2027. Dyna described a setup in which a store can change napkin-folding assignments through instructions instead of replacing hardware or recalibrating the full system. It added that a newly installed unit can reach payback in as little as three days. On performance, Dyna said Dyna-2 achieved an 87% quality pass rate in zero-shot deployment, up from 46% for Dyna-1. It also reported throughput of 95 napkins per hour at a 93% target-hit rate, versus 35 per hour and 75% for the prior generation. The robots are sold through a B2B subscription model, with monthly pricing not disclosed.

Coin Metrics says trillion-dollar USDC and USDT transfers are largely driven by internal crypto liquidity flows

Coin Metrics examined how USDC and USDT transfer activity is distributed across Ethereum, Base, and Tron, arguing that raw stablecoin settlement numbers do not automatically reflect consumer payments or real-economy commerce. The report says adjusted stablecoin transfer volume has diverged from spot crypto exchange activity since 2025, with daily stablecoin transfers at one point topping $250 billion while exchange volume fell to roughly $18 billion a day. Year to date in 2026, adjusted stablecoin transfers have reached $41.7 trillion. The study found that USDC shows far higher turnover than USDT. In 2026, USDC’s annualized adjusted-supply velocity stood at 741x, compared with 74x for USDT, even though USDT’s market cap was more than $100 billion larger. As of August 2026, USDC had processed $32 trillion in cumulative settlement transfers, or 77% of the stablecoin market total measured in the report, versus $8 trillion and 19% for USDT. By chain, Base and Ethereum USDC activity was dominated by flash loans and DEX liquidity rebalancing, while Ethereum USDT carried a larger share of centralized exchange flows. Tron’s USDT looked very different: DeFi-related activity was minimal, exchange-related transfers accounted for 19%, and about 80% of volume remained uncategorized, a bucket the report says likely includes remittances and payment use cases.

Roy Lee maps out three AI gold-rush trades, from infrastructure to ads

Cluely founder Roy Lee said on the Jack Neel Podcast that he sees three underused money-making opportunities taking shape across the AI industry: selling infrastructure to major AI labs, rapidly building and marketing AI apps, and offering AI-generated video and advertising services. He argued that the broadest opening is not in training frontier models or building a large engineering-heavy startup, but in using current generative AI tools to sell results to companies that still do not realize how capable those tools have become. Lee’s first category targets technically strong founders who can serve labs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google DeepMind with data services, model infrastructure, GPU and compute systems, or efficiency improvements for chips and model execution. His second category focuses on AI applications, where coding agents and code-generation models have sharply reduced development time. He said Cluely maintains seven software products with two full-time engineers and claimed several of those products generate more than $1 million in annual revenue, though the article noted that no independent financial data was available to verify those figures. The third and lowest-barrier opportunity, in Lee’s view, is AI video and advertising. He suggested creating sample ads for well-funded software companies using tools such as Seedance 2.5, then pitching a performance-based monthly retainer. Across all three themes, Lee said the biggest AI arbitrage comes from the gap between how fast AI capabilities are improving and how slowly most companies understand them.

RWA Weekly: Four Banks Move on a Global Stablecoin Alliance as Coinbase Brings Tokenized Stocks to Base

Real-world asset markets kept expanding during the Aug. 21 to Aug. 27 tracking window, with on-chain RWA market capitalization reaching $38.7 billion and total holders climbing to 2.952 million, according to the figures cited in the report. Stablecoins also grew in scale, with total market capitalization rebounding to $303.04 billion and monthly transfer volume rising 20.33% from a month earlier to $6.49 trillion, even as monthly active addresses slipped 1.24% to 52.87 million. The report described that split as a market where larger holders are rebalancing frequently while smaller users are staying on the sidelines. Regulatory developments came from three major jurisdictions. In the U.S., the Financial Accounting Standards Board proposed guidance on when some digital assets, including stablecoins, may qualify as cash equivalents under GAAP, with comments due by Nov. 19, 2026. In the U.K., the government is moving to give the Bank of England a secondary legal objective to support innovation in digital currency and payments. In Japan, regulators are preparing to ease limits on large-value stablecoin payments, potentially allowing single transactions above 1 million yen. On the corporate and product side, The Wall Street Journal reported that JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Santander are working toward a global stablecoin alliance. Coinbase has launched tokenized stocks natively on Base under its B20 standard, while Franklin Templeton, Bitwise, Bitfinex Securities, Revolut, Fasset and Entropy.io also posted fresh RWA and stablecoin developments.
