MAGNE.AI pushes beyond a Web3 phone into edge AI and agent infrastructure

MAGNE.AI is no longer being framed only as a Web3 smartphone project. Public materials reviewed from RootData, regulatory filings and the company’s own disclosures show a broader buildout across devices, edge AI, identity rails and machine payments. On the hardware side, MAGNE Phone Gen1 is listed at the PVT P2 stage after Pre-EVT and EVT P1, with first-batch manufacturing targeted for the third quarter of 2026. The company has also published FCC-linked materials, a 3D phone structure viewer and staged production updates. On the enterprise side, MAGNE AI BOX is being positioned for private AI and edge-compute deployments, with a Release Gate framework, one local run validation for a Qwen3.6-35B-A3B Q4_K_M artifact, and a Gate 1 plan to build three prototypes for performance, thermal, offline and recovery testing. Agent Pay, meanwhile, has shown a local contract demo and testnet evidence, but end-to-end HTTP 402 flows are still under development and production payments are not open. MAGNE.AI disclosed a $2.64 million strategic follow-on round on Aug. 5, 2026, bringing cumulative public financing to $12.64 million by its own account. Even so, the article argues the key questions now are delivery, prototype validation, public testnet payment proof and whether community participation can convert into actual device users.

Analyst says BTC short-term structure has improved, with $83.2K as key resistance for trend reversal confirmation

CryptoQuant analyst Axel Adler Jr. said Bitcoin has reclaimed the $68,200 short-term holder cost basis during the latest rebound and broke above the roughly $67,500 SMA111 and the $69,000 SMA200 on rising volume. That move has pushed short-term holders who bought BTC recently back into profit. Still, Adler Jr. said the broader moving-average setup remains bearish. Both the SMA111 and SMA200 are still below the SMA365, which stands at about $83,200. In his view, that means a higher-timeframe trend reversal has not yet been confirmed. He said traders should watch whether BTC can hold the $68,000 to $69,000 area on the downside, while $83,200 is the main resistance level overhead. A breakout above the SMA365, followed by the ability to stay above it, would be an important signal that the trend may be changing.

Germany widens MiCA lead as EU-authorized CASPs rise to 331

Germany extended its lead in authorizations under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation after the European Securities and Markets Authority updated its register on Friday. The total number of authorized crypto asset service providers, or CASPs, rose to 331, with all six newly added firms coming from Germany’s cooperative banking sector. The additions were Raiffeisenbank Aidlingen, Ihre Volksbank, VR-Bank Mittelfranken Mitte, Volksbank Euskirchen, VR Bank Ried-Überwald and Volksbank Backnang. That pushed Germany’s total to 79 CASPs, well ahead of France at 35 and the Netherlands at 29. ESMA data previously reviewed by Cointelegraph showed Germany had already been in front in late June with 57 authorized providers. Germany’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority, or BaFin, said in June that the country’s higher authorization count partly reflected the size of its financial sector and the number of credit institutions eligible to offer crypto services. BaFin also pointed to Germany’s existing national licensing framework, which allowed some firms to use simplified procedures while moving into the MiCA regime. ESMA’s ART, EMT and non-compliant entity datasets were unchanged, with the ART register empty, the EMT register at 43 entries and the non-compliant entity list at 167.

TRON weekly report tracks BTC’s run toward $80,000 and spotlights Cap, Ground, and shifting crypto rules

TRON’s latest weekly industry report, covering Aug. 16 to Aug. 23, said crypto markets rebounded sharply as macro pressure, liquidity expectations, and friendlier U.S. policy signals converged. Bitcoin climbed from about $62,819 on Aug. 16 to an intraday high near $79,306 on Aug. 21 before easing back to roughly $76,000-$76,300 by Aug. 23, a gain of about 21% for the period. Ether rose from around $1,876 to about $2,390, with a weekly increase of roughly 27% and a peak near $2,544 on Aug. 21. TRON linked the move to an expanded long-dated Treasury buyback plan from the U.S. Treasury, a warmer regulatory backdrop including renewed momentum for the CLARITY Act and a new Securities and Exchange Commission proposal for crypto asset issuance, plus about $1.6 billion in net inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs from Aug. 17 to Aug. 20. The report also focused on two institutional on-chain yield projects. Cap, which has raised $15.4 million with participation from Franklin Templeton, Triton Capital, GSR, and Flow Traders, is presented as a credit-backed, yield-bearing stablecoin system on Ethereum built around underwriters, overcollateralization, liquidation, and integration with Symbiotic restaking infrastructure. Ground, which has raised $3.6 million led by Bain Capital and ParaFi with backing from Nascent, Robot Ventures, and Chapter One, is described as an institutional yield infrastructure layer that connects stablecoin balances to multiple on-chain yield sources through APIs, portfolio wallets, routing, and non-custodial key management. The report further reviewed fresh SEC, CFTC, CLARITY Act, and MiCA developments.

Sandmark Says Binance Still Lets EU Users Register Despite Missing MiCA License

Sandmark said on Aug. 19 that Binance still allowed users in Austria, France, Germany, Spain and Belgium to register and complete identity checks, whether or not they used a VPN. The accounts that passed verification did not receive any warning about a missing MiCA license and could still use services including crypto deposit reception. ESMA has told unauthorized firms to stop opening accounts, marketing and soliciting EU clients by July 1, and European regulators have already begun issuing penalties for MiCA breaches. Binance said, after withdrawing a MiCA application filed with Greek regulators, that it is still working on the relevant authorizations so it can operate in Europe on a long-term compliant basis, and that it has taken steps to align its products and services with the applicable legal framework. On Aug. 14, Austria’s Financial Market Authority fined Bitpanda €70,000 for notification and marketing violations, according to Bitcoin.com News.

Techub News said Pi Network has completed its Protocol 26 upgrade and described Protocol 27 as the project’s “final planned upgrade.” The project’s MiCA white paper has been registered with ESMA, but claims about partnerships with PayPal and RoboPay have not been verified.
